Limit's Customisable Bangles
Customisable bangles for social VR avatars.
These bangles I made are designed to be a 'one size fits all' solution. By default, they are a generic cylinder shape, but by using blendshapes/shapekeys, and armatures in the bangles, you can shape them to fit on any character and any limb, well in theory anyways.
My second ever model made from scratch in blender. Mesh has 1-3 armatures (dependant on variant) and weight painting. The texture is a simple scratched brass texture I made in Substance Painter.
Included in the package are the .fbx files for the single and three armature variants of the bangle, pbr textures, the Unity Package, and .SPP file.
The Unity scene contains two variants of the Bangles; one with a single armature, and one with three armatures to allow for more control over the shape. In addition the Unity package contains the Filamented shader by silent (under the Apache licence) based on Google Filament.
Preview images shown are of the bangles on my personal social VR avatar, which is a Canis Woof (by Rezillo Ryker) that I heavily modified in blender.
About the blendshapes
There are 5 (only 4 are currently usable):
- Front Bigger: makes the front side of the bangle larger in diametre.
- BackBigger: makes the back side of the bangle larger in diametre.
- Skew Z: shifts the front side of the bangle along its local Z axis.
- Skew Y: shifts the front side of the bangle along its local Y axis.
The 'Unravel' blendshape currently does nothing, as I have not yet learned the best way to make this blendshape. This blendshape, once made, will not affect the fit of the bangle as it is only for equip/unequip animations.
Licencing:
Appropriate credit must be given, such on a credits plane inside the avatar (if it has one), or providing the URL to this Gumroad page if people ask where they can get it. Do not claim you made the asset.
If you use this asset in an avatar commission, I ask that the commissioner and client have both purchased the asset.
Do not re-sell the asset.
Do not re-distribute the asset to people that have not purchased the asset from me.
You may make derivatives of the asset. If so, I ask you to continue to give credit to me as the original creator, and of course credit yourself for the changes you made, and any other creators who made changes to it, and if you intend to sell a derivative, please charge for the changes you made, and direct clients back to this page to purchase the original asset before giving them the derivative.
